Since we are in the gardening season this planter box was a perfect product to review. Nicholas Zimmer-owner and resident in Jacksonville with a B.S. in Horticulture from UW Madison, created Bluebird Growers in Jacksonville, Florida. He named the business Bluebird after his grandmother who loved bluebirds and spent a lot of time in the kitchen with him.

As soon a we got the planter box home I was ready to use them for dinner.  My husband had a taste for spaghetti for dinner, so we used the basil and oregano to make spaghetti. Here is a how we make our spaghetti meal.

Ingredients:

  • spaghetti pasta
  • spaghetti sauce (I use Ragu brand)
  • ground beef or chuck
  • 1/4 Bellpepper chopped
  • 1/2 onions
  • pepper & salt to taste
  • garlic powder

This looks so convenient especially since it’s already planted! We used to have a garden in our home in Texas but can’t have one now that we are in an apartment in the middle of Seattle! I would love to give this a go so we can have fresh herbs again!

What a cute idea! This has inspires me to take some antique wood and make boxes for our windows! Okay, okay…my husband technically makes them? but we could totally do this! I like how these boxes come with herbs. I’ve never heard of them before!

I miss the days when we used eat food that was freshly grown without being processed with GMO and other stuff that we really shouldn’t be eating. The recipe looks sounds great!

The Bluebird growers planters box is a really great idea! I have been trying to plant some herbs but I think that will be easier and I like the setup.

I’ve never heard of this brand before but it’s nice to know thst it’s all about plants. It nice to be able to plant your own herbs and just gather them when the recipe calls for it.

How cute is it that your grandma is the inspiration for this post of the combination of bluebirds and the kitchen. 🙂
I learned a lot about cooking from my grandmas as well. Thanks for sharing this.
